Friday Fun

TGIF, y'all! I'm looking forward to some down time this weekend, as well as the cooler, more seasonable temps, that this week's rain brought to our area. Woohoo!

Don't forget to set your clocks back Saturday night, it's that time of the year again. But I'll spare you my soap box rant on the ridiculousness of time change---that's a topic for a whole other post!

Enjoy your extra hour this weekend, even if like us, that means it's dark at 5:00!

Five Question Friday {hosted by Mama M.}

1. If you could have any talent and turn it into an occupation, what would it be?

Being someone with very few talents, this one is an easy one for me. Without hesitation I would love to one day have my love for writing turn into an opportunity to create and publish Children's books, short stories, and poems.

2. Would you rather have a house at the beach or a cabin in the woods?

I've read too many James Patterson novels and seen one too many scary movies, the girl in the cabin always meets an early demise. I'll take the house on the beach. A girl's gotta tan and did I mention Hubs is a Coastal Engineer?! Um...hello!

3. Is there any meaning or reasoning for the names you chose for your child/children?

As embarrassed as I am to admit it, I first heard the name Gillian on the Bachelorette a few seasons ago. Back then Bachelorette Gillian (with a J) was looking for love and for some reason, her name just kind of stuck. It was one of the few names Bret didn't immediately veto, and knowing that we wanted to do the whole Southern two first name 'thang, in our opinion, Gillian was a beautiful accompaniment to Grace, a name we knew we wanted to use.

4. What is your guilty pleasure? (I know we've done this one before, but I'm guessing people's "guilty pleasures" change frequently. At least, mine do!)

Gosh, my answer is really going to show just how mundane my life is---My current guilty pleasure is trip to Target sans Hubs and Sweet Bean. Without my entourage I can actually do something that I never get to do anymore, browse! Throw in a fountain Diet Coke to slurp while shopping and I'm in seventh Heaven! What can I say? In some ways, I'm easy to please!

5. Do you live in a house that is deep cleaned or straightened?

To be honest, I'm not totally 100% certain what this question means. I can say that I do give our house, upstairs and down, a good cleaning once a week. In addition to Thursdays' cleanings, I usually run the sweeper and dust several times a week. While I'm not sure my house would pass the white glove test, it is certainly guest ready at a moments notice!

{Have you tried this, Pledge Multi Surface? Best cleaning product ever! It saves me so much time!}

Fun Phone Photo Friday

{Well on her way, to filling some really big shoes!}

Sorry for the poor picture quality. While iPhones are wonderful, their picture quality of a target that's on the go, leaves a little something to be desired!

And with so many of y'all mentioning that you'd like to participate and link up with Fun Phone Photo Fridays, I'll get a linky thingamajiggy up next week! Get those phones ready, friends!

Have a terrific weekend!

I would take any of those beach houses! Bob and I talk or daydream about that kind of stuff all the time - beach or lake house? It's hard for us to want a beach house, b/c it is over a 4 hour drive for us. :) Anyway, like that would happen anyhow.... lol

Cute post, and happy Friday!

Oh, and I hate this time change business too. During the dead of winter, it gets dark here at 4:30. Grrr.

I'm so with you, Target is the GREATEST escape! I actually went for over an hour last week by myself and had the best time!

A fountain DC is also a must for me to enjoy while shopping! :)

OMG I CAN'T LIVE W/O PLEDGE MULTI PURPOSE. i need it in bulk. i will admit i cleaned more when i had less kids....now i get so frustrated that when i clean it's messed up in 2 secs flat and you'd never know i spent hours cleaning.

i was gonna say cabin in woods until you reminded me i'll get slashed by freddie!

was at target today! we should have met up! HAHA

and yes the time change is gay

LOL @ the reason not to pick the cabin in the woods! So true! I'm a beach girl, anyway. :)

Stopping by from the tea party.

First...I can totally see you publishing childrens books in the near future! You are an amazing writer...I think it is your next calling. Next, my mouth has dropped at the pics you posted of 'coastal living.' Did Bret actually work on those projects? I am a beach girl too, but I am learning to enjoy the woods..LOL! I am sure you are so glad you have a little helper in GG. Teaching her early :) Oh, and you know I love Target too. But I thought you gave up the Diet Coke?? Have a great weekend.

Shannon, I think you have so many talents! Still, you are fantastic at writing and capturing an audience! I love the pics of these beach houses...Oh, but my favorite pics of course are of Gilly (so that's how she got her name!) Oh, and a guilty pleasure of mine would be going shopping without anyone too--Target is definitely one of my favs!
