The Ultimate Blog Party has just kicked off over at 5 Minutes for Mom! This will be the first time I've participated in such an event and I'm really looking forward to "meeting" as many new bloggy buddies as possible without completely neglecting my responsibilities here at home.
So first things first, welcome to Webbisodes. As a Southern gal, I'm inclined to offer you a sweet tea and ask that you sit a spell, but alas this is a blog and well...that's just not possible. But here's hoping you'll take a minute {or two} and get to know me a little better.
I began blogging nearly one year ago at the strong urging of a good friend. At the time I was expecting our first child and what began as a way for friends and family to keep up with all the changes in our lives has quickly grown into much more. Having always loved to write, blogging is a way for me to share the ups and downs, struggles and successes, as well as the tears and laughter that I experience everyday as a first time Mommy to the most adorable baby girl in the world, Miss Gillian Grace. In a nutshell my blog is about all the diapers, drool, and drama that accompanies first time parenthood. After all, blogging is cheaper than therapy, and has perks that even chocolate can't provide---inspiration and encouragement from fabulous women all over the country.
In case you're on borrowed time, and what Momma isn't, here are a few quick facts about Webbisodes:
- I am a teacher by trade, but recently opted to make a career change and become a stay-at-home mom. Although it is infinitely more difficult than I ever thought it would be, I enjoy my new role as a SAHM and would not trade my life for any amount of money, front row seats to Bon Jovi, or a lifetime supply of Diet Coke.
- I am married to the most wonderful man in the world. He is compassionate, caring, considerate, and an extraordinary father to our daughter. He is my best friend and always puts the needs of our family before all else.
- My daughter is my life. Enough said!
- My parents are my best friends and they are a huge part of my life. I do not know what I would do without them. I talk to my mother at least four times a day, often about nothing at all.
- I am addicted to Diet Coke, reality tv, and the computer. As a family we enjoying running and spending tons of time outside.
- I will turn 31 this August but still feel like I'm 19. I will be joining the local Junior League in May which suddenly makes me feel like I'm back in high school vying for the acceptance of the "popular" crowd. My biggest fear is rejection and I am very uneasy in new and unfamiliar situations, which should make this whole new endeavor very interesting and good fodder for blogging.

But before you go, 5 Minutes for Mom has asked that all that participate include several items that have got us drooling in the event that we should be chosen to win a prize. Should I be fortunate enough to be selected, I've got my eye on:
- $150 shopping spree at Pedal Cars and Retro Collectibles
- Hand Stamped Personalized Necklace valued at $48 provided by Kristen's Custom Creations
- Buds to Bloom Custom Tile Necklace provided by Lisa Laverty at Elemental Memories

You have a beautiful family!
Hi, I'm visiting for the Ultimate Blog Party. Nice to meet you. :)
Very cute post. Have you read the book "In Praise of Stay At Home Mom's"? I loved that book, it's actually what pushed me to quit my job to be a full time SAHM.
Well I'm already a follower :) But I wanted to let you know that I love this idea and I'm stealing it from you! Can I just say that your daughter and mine could take over the world with their cuteness????!
Love your beautiful family photos. Isn't being a sahm so rewarding? I know what you mean about your child being your life. You wonder what life was like without them. She's a beauty. Nice to meet you.
Party on :)
I'm a Florida native as well, now living in GA. I grew up in a small town called Crescent City.
My husband also puts the needs of the family first. We have 3 boys who we love immensely.
I'm addicted to the computer.
My mom turns 81 in August.
And as I read the blogs I am in the midst of doing laundry.
Hey, I have to look like I'm doing something. Right!?
I forgot to let you know, I'm visiting from `UBP 2010`
There's never enough time is there! :)
Stopping by from UBP 2010! Come visit me too:

Just stopping by to say "hi" from the UBP!! I'm a former teacher turned SAHM too!! Look forward to getting to know you better through your blog! =)
Nice to meet you. Very clever blog title. Cute! I look forward to getting to know you.
You have such a beautiful family Shannon! I am so envious that you are staying at home with your Gilly. I am still on the fence if I made the right decision on returning to work. This week of illness certainly has me questioning my decision. It would have been so much easier just being at home and not having to feel guilty about calling off of work. Have a great weekend!
Karen
I love the cleverness of your title--too cute! I too am a southern gal and I think our southern hospitality just shines through onto our pages...we can't help it! ;-)
Coming by from the UBP! Hope to see you at my place!
HI there as a southern girl myself I completely agree on the sweet tea and pulling up a chair. Life is just a little slower here, even our rushed is not as rushed as other places. Your pics are beautiful would love to have you come visit my blog. Have fun at the UBP it's my first time too..
Wait... your doing this without neglecting duties around the house?? Okay fess up, where are you keeping the robot? Were any other robots made? Where can I purchase said robot?

Such a cute blog title and play on your name! I'd love to pull up a chair and have some sweet tea. We can always trade "When I was a teacher" stories while we sip away.

I adore your writer's "voice" and can't wait until the laundry is done, the dog is let out, the kids go to sleep (Oh please, let it be soon!!!) to read more of your blog!
