High Praise

Becoming a stay-at-home mom has affected every single aspect of my life, including my wardrobe. Gone are the days of dressing to the nines for work in fabulously trendy little garments. And, as for shoes, let's just say my high heels have seen just about as much action as a Nun at Sunday service. Tennis shoes, ballerina flats, and dare I say, flip flops have relegated my heels to back of the closet status. But when the occasion calls for glam, I do what any self-respecting Southern gal would do and cram myself into some Spanx, free my dress from it's dry-cleaning cocoon, don the pearls, and last but not least, dust off that perfect pair of pumps. After all, it's not the woman that makes the man, but rather the great pair of shoes that make the woman, right?!

Well, I was beyond speechless (and for those that know me that's saying a lot) when I received a comment from Jill over at The Husailey Bunch informing me that my lil' old bliggity blog had been given an award. And, it wasn't just any award, but the Stiletto award! How fab is that?! Jill's blog is an ah-mazingly hilarious account of her life as a wannabe entrepreneur (her words, not mine) and a stay-at-home mom of six kids (yes, I said 6). So the next time you find yourself out cruisin' the bloggyhood, swing by her place and say hi.

In order to accept this award, there are a few housekeeping items I must attend to first. So here are the rules according to Jill:

This award is meant to be shared, to be given out, to be bestowed upon and all ALL women who exemplify what the stiletto represents. If you've received this award, here's what you do:

1. Display your Stiletto Badge of Honor on your sidebar! Wear it with pride!

Check, I've done that!

2. Brag about it! Write a post about your award. Include the link the the award so everyone will understand what it's all about.

Done and done!

3. Say thanks! Include a link to the friend who nominated you for the award.

Gotcha covered and muchas gracias,

4. Share the love! Nominate 5-10 blogs (or 11 if you're me) that you feel deserve the award. Include their links in your post and leave them an email or comment letting them know they've been nominated.

Emails have been sent. Check below to see my nominations!

5. Do what you do! Keep inspiring, encouraging, and sharing your life. We love it!

With so many wonderful blogs to choose from, picking just a few was really tough. But, {drumroll puh-lease} my favorite, stiletto worthy, blogs are...

  • The woman that needs no introduction, author of the Preppy Bible, Social Climbers {need I say more}, Beth@ Social Climbers
  • The hilariously real mom to two adorable lil' ones, Liz@ A Belle, a Bean, & a Chicago dog
  • The young and totally adorable Midwestern gal, Aly@ Analyze This
  • The wife of a pilot and all around "good Southern woman trying to be more like Martha," Katie@ Cleared for Takeoff
  • The baby and boot wearin' stay-at-home Momma to 4 lil' ones, Laura@ Cowboy Boots and Baby Booties
  • Bestie to Laura from Cowboy Boots, creator of Top 2 Tuesdays, and Real Housewives aficionado, Taylor@ The Undomestic Momma
  • Jewelry designer and creator of the blog title that says it all, Heather@Gerber Days
  • The gal that knows that it's not all about the name (read her blog to understand more), Tiffany@ Feels Like Home???? (Again, check her out to get the scoop!)
  • The Mom that juggles a little one with one on the way and still finds time to shop, take beautiful photos, and model, Natalie@ The Busy Budgeting Mama
  • The originator of Mommy and Me Monday (which I adore) and Momma to two precious girls, Krystyn@ Really Are You Serious?
And last but certainly not least...
Congratulations, Ladies and thanks for brightening our days with your sassy say-it-alls. Y'all are the bee's knees!

Diamonds are a girl's best friend. Followed by shoes at a close second!

Do these come in my size?

Okay, who took my other shoe?

Now get going...y'all have tons of reading to do!

Ah, darlin, even us working stiffs (and I do NOT mean SAHM's don't work - I just mean, those of us that work outside the home) don't get to dress to the nine's any more either. I'm just happy if I get to work with only one formula stain on me.

Your daughter is such a cutie!! I know how you feel about the wardrobe change. I used to love wearing heels, dressing up everyday etc. Now I'm lucky if I remember to get out of my pajamas before running to the store!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. You have my vote as well :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am following your blog now. Loved looking at your pictures!! My daughter isn't too far behind yours.. she's almost 7.5 months now. They seriously grow too fast, don't they?!?! If only I could finish school as fast as they grow... ;o)

I love her leg rolls! My goodness I want to nom on her. The shoes are super cute, but I try to keep the shoes away from Marley for as long as possible. It's bad enough that the dog drools and chews on them...
