Tooth!
Alert the presses, Gillian Grace finally has her first tooth and has signs that number 2 is on the way! After months and months of showing all the signs of teething, her first bottom tooth made its debut just days ago. Hallelujah!
We've waited for this day for so long, I felt it only appropriate to commemorate this milestone with a little ditty...

Ode to a Tooth
I was tending to my chores as I usually do,
When I paused for a second to watch GG chew.
There in her mouth I noticed a white glistening speck,
Not sure at first what it could be, I bent down for a closer check.

There in her mouth I noticed a white glistening speck,
Not sure at first what it could be, I bent down for a closer check.
It was easy to see even among all the crumbs,
There sat her first tooth popping through her pink gums.
I thought to myself, could this really be?
Is this the little chomper we've been waiting to see?

After months of drooling and uncomfortable nights,
In an instant it became clear why teething really bites.
That new tooth though tiny and small,
Was a terribly sharp oral intruder and the cause of GG's squalls.

I felt for my daughter, but knew the tooth's fate,
In a few years it would fall out during a play date.
Then one night, under her pillow the tooth will go,
In hopes that the Tooth Fairy will exchange it for some dough.

So though I felt bad for this one lone teensy tooth,
I was relieved that she finally had one to tell you the truth.
For a while I thought she'd have to get dentures,
Now wouldn't that have been quite the adventure?!

I've had it with the Mamarazzi, enough with the pictures already!
Top 2 TuesdayThis week's Top 2- Favorite things about Summer
1. Lounging Poolside- I was majorly pregnant last summer and spent most of my time floating in my parents' pool. Not only did I have a good tan, but I got a little relief from all that extra load I was carrying those final few weeks of my pregnancy. Since Gillian Grace's birth we've only been swimming once. GG loved the water so I am looking forward to slathering her in a little Water Babies SPF and heading east for some poolside chillaxin' family style!

2. The ABCs of Summer (Anniversaries, Birthdays, and Cook-outs)- Every June we celebrate my parents' anniversary on the 20th and continue the party through to the next day, when we celebrate our anniversary! Summer is always full of birthdays and this year we've added one more to the calendar. Miss Gillian Grace will turn the big 0-1 on July 20th. I cannot wait to celebrate her first year of life with all our family and friends! Then we'll close summer with my and my father's birthday celebrations in August. Fun times! And what would summer be without tons of cook-outs? Burgers, dogs, steaks, you name it...it just all tastes better on the grill!
Our Wedding Day
This year summer we'll celebrate our 7th anniversary on June 21st.

Love the ode. My daughter got her first one yesterday. Glad it finally decided to show itself. I think she was pretty happy too. :)
Aww...GG's tooth!! How precious! She will be achy once they all start to come in!
I love your pick for Taylor's Top 2 Tuesday! The ABC's of summer....so cute!! :) Cookout's are definitely one of my favorites!
Ah! Congrats on the tooth....love the ditty, too! One of the twins has two and is working on three teeth, the other is still all gums. Isn't it amazing how they just kinda pop in from out of nowhere?
Yay, Gillian! You were a beautiful bride!
That is the cutest tooth poem ever! How fun that she got her first tooth. Both my girls were around 8-9 months when they got theirs too.
Okay, so, that picture of GG in the hat, sun glasses, and bathing suit is just too divalicious. She is so stinkin' cute.
What a beautiful bride you were. Just gorgeous!
Way to go GG! Drake has been going through the same thing as GG, lots of drooling and chewing for months! I'm ready for him to get his first tooth!!
GG looks so cute in her little swim outfit. You will have so much fun with her this summer!

Congrats to GG!!! I swear my E started teething at four months but that tooth didn't make it's appearance until 9 months! ha! She's got a mouth full now though! They like to come in 3 and 4 at a time...Yikes :)
Our anniversary is June 17th so we'll be celebrating with yall! and there is nothing better than a summer time cookout followed by a relaxing ride on the float boat!

Your wedding picture is gorgeous...you were a beautiful bride!
Love the little ditty and I love the little toofer!!! My daughter just popped her first one last week and it's been a real treat!! I feel so bad because obviously it's not a whole lot of fun and the drool is horrendous!!
Love the pics!!!
You are so dang creative!! Loved your ode to the pearly white!! She is so cute. L-boy didn't get his first tooth until about 13 months! He only has 4 now, and a molar breaking through and he's 16 months! Some kids just take their time!
Thanks for the comment. I'm not into the style thing much, unless you consider jeans and a tee a style. :) I know it's about more than that. I appreciate it! :) I hadn't finished awarding my 10 people but I really think you deserve this award! I really think you deserve to have it! I may not finish with my 10 but I think you really deserve it! I love reading your blog. Your little girl is so cute! Love the pictures!
Yea for the new tooth! Here's hoping the rest come in quickly! :) xoxo
I have been trying to get on at home and visit your blog for a couple weeks now, since I can't see your pictures or leave comments from work for some weird reason. I finally had a couple minutes to sit down tonight!
Anyway - your tooth song is hilarious! Isn't teething fun? My daughter never gave us any problems, but I think my little man is getting it bad. I wish those little things would just push through already.
Your little GG is adorable and has a beautiful smile! Are you a Gymboree nut too? :-)
Awe, Yay for teeth!!!
