Monday Musings

After a stormy Saturday, the skies cleared making for an absolutely beautiful end to the weekend. But unfortunately, my mood Sunday was anything but sunny and pleasant. To say that I woke up on the wrong side of the bed would be putting it mildly. For no reason at all, I was just in a funk.

Do you have days like that?

Gillian Grace got every ounce of kindness and patience I could muster, so needless to say my husband was the undeserving recipient of most of my crankiness. Try as he might to do right by us, I found flaw in most everything he did. I was on his case about how he fed GG to how loudly I thought he was eating, and I was relentless. I might as well have been the Big Bad Wolf because I huffed, puffed, and sighed about practically everything. Unfortunately my mom even got a taste of my terrible 'tude when I called home to check in. Suppose I could blame it on being peed on {twice}; thinking I lost my wedding ring after a catastrophic diaper change and sifting through a bag of poopy wet wipes and diaper only to learn that my husband had my ring the entire time; or that I was over tired from our six a.m. wake up call courtesy of the next door neighbor's yard man and his mower! But that would be unfair. The reality of it is, I was just in a no good, very bad, don't listen to a thing I say because I don't really mean it, kinda mood. And I've decided it's okay to have an "off" day every once in awhile, but I have learned that when a bad moon mood is arisin' I need to head off by myself. After all, my family shouldn't have to endure my bad moodapalooza!

But the weekend was not totally without laughter, smiles, and the usual fun family times. We did enjoy spending a little time outside Sunday, and celebrated the first birthday of one of Gillian Grace's friends {our neighbor's grandchild}. After the party and a quick change into comfy clothes, we headed to Fresh Market to pick up something for dinner. As we were walking out, I noticed the small oranges and after reading the name on the boxes, just had to have Bret snap a few quick pictures. Who could resist posing with a bunch of "cuties"? I sure couldn't!

Gillian Grace is watching the cutie she did have in her hand, roll into the parking lot. Whoops!

Still looking for her cutie! I just know she thought it was going to come back.

Girl, I have those days all the time. I will get pissed off at DH about the most ridiculous thing then apologize 10 minutes later and remind him not to listen to me when I get like that. Thankfully, I married a sweet man who understand how crazy I can be! lol

Hun, I was the same way this entire weekend...ugh! I hate that feeling of nothing but aggravation...and nobody can do a thing to make it better!

Cute pics, honey! Hoping today is a happier day :)

I have those days too! Sometimes I just can't figure out what the problem is and even though I'm consciously thinking about it, it doesn't change my mood a bit.

My husband LOVES cuties!! haha :)

Why do mean seem to eat loudly? Aren't they just wonderful for loving us regardless of out 'tude days. Ha, well the photos turned out good and don't be too hard on yourself- sometimes those days exist :)- we all have them-

I've had those days where if the DOG even looks at me I totally loose it. But sometimes it's sorta nice to indulge in it, but come bedtime I always tell myself to snap out of it, that that was enough and to move on. At least the sun peeked out at the end!

Yep, those kinda days just suck, but everybody's entitled to have one every now and then - don't be too hard on yourself :)
My toddler LOVES cuties! I think he'd eat a whole box of them if we'd let him. It's the only good-for-him food he'll eat without being forced!

Those days are SO normal. Like you, I work hard to minimize being mean to the people that I love (and who love me) the most. But, my husband usually gets the brunt of it too.

Appropriate that you and your cutie were in front of a whole bunch of cuties. ;) Your little GG made my oldest go "Awwwwwww".

Oh, girl! I am right there with you. Sometimes I get the best nights sleep and wake up wondering why I am so damn pissy. There is no explanation for it, it just happens. And I feel sorry for my husband b/c wouldn't you know it hardly ever happens when he is at work. Hmmmm.... Haha :)

If somebody says that they aren't in a funk ever I might call them a liar.

I feel your funk. I'm pretty sure I lived it this weekend, too.

Here's to us all cheering up and getting out of our funk.

I was THE EXACT same way Sunday. Had a rip roarin' fit with hubby for standing in my way in the kitchen and then he'd move and be in my way again. I'd had thrown something but I'm not a thrower. But I am a cusser haha! Blame it on the full moon. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Love the pics...definitely cute!

*And I know all about that cranky bug. My poor husband is on the receiving end of it since I try to maintain some semblance of "loving, kind mother" with the babes on those days!

We all have those days. Sleep deprivation certainly doesn't help.

Maybe it's just in the air??

That's me on a good day! Kidding. I have had those days. They make for a whole lot of guilt. But it looks like you made it through and your hubs is still close by. Whew! And your little cutie is SO CUTE!!

Wow - your description of almost losing your ring in a diaper speaks volumes about how messy it must have been!
