This and That Thursday

{Room with a view}

Gillian Grace has dibs on the downstairs most of the house. Everything, from the shows on the DVR, to the bins under the entryway bench seat, to the occasional Nilla wafer in the dishwasher's silverware separator, scream baby was here! Come to think of it, there's hardly a room in the entire house that doesn't have touches of the world's tiniest tot tornado.

And just in case you needed clarification, we call her the tiny tot tornado because she's into everything!

The tiny tot tornado aftermath...I swear the ribbon was organized!

So before losing the few marbles I have remaining, I've decided to add one more thing to my project list and create a space of my own. My little sanctuary will not have a Zen garden, or working waterfall wall art. And you'll have to look long and hard to find a bamboo plant or bonsai tree, after all, Mr. Miyagi I'm not.  But, it will be a room that's 100% mine!

I'm excited, can you tell?

More details to come, stay tuned!

{Pink and Green Thursdays}

I've never participated in Trish's P and G Thursdays before, which is odd considering that pink and green are (cue Julia Roberts in Steel Magnolias), my signature color(s).

But after seeing it on dozens of my favorite blogs, decided that today was a great day to join.

All these photos are from an email my mom sent a few days ago. And to think, I thought watermelon was just a delicious summer fruit!

First of all, good for you for creating a space of your own. I'm jealous!

Secondly, those watermelons are AMAZING! Who knew such a talent existed?

i enjoy pink and green too.

i also tried some watermelon art for my middle daughter's preschool graduation this past june. needless to say, it turned out nothing like the lovely photos you have here. in fact, all i managed to come up with without creating a total disaster was a basket shape that i filled with watermelon balls and other melon fruits. :)

Love your idea for a space that's all your own!! Every girl should have that. Right now..mine is the breakfast table in the kitchen, and that's just not gonna cut it!

Love the picture of you :) And that is some cool watermelon art :)

I remember trying to keep things organized then just giving up at some point. Then I decided if I could just keep it all in one central location that that would work out, but I gave up on that too.
My kids used to and still do get into everything, make ginormous messes, then look at it just like GG is doing in the photo with a, "Who is going to clean up my mess" kind of look.
You gotta just love em while you have em. I keep telling myself that because they'll be grown up and gone and then you'll be wanting someone to come make a mess for you to clean up.

Wow she really is into everything. I completely get what you mean. Sometimes it seems overwhelming almost when they get into one thing after another. However with your new you space that will all be ok :) Good for you. I'm sure its well deserved.

A place of your very own?! How fun! I sectioned off a corner of the kids' playroom for myself and put a workstation there but somehow as I sit at said workstation there are toys all over and under it...so much for that idea. Can't wait to hear about yours!

Fun pictures of the watermelons!

I am jealous already and I don't even know what space you are talking about!! Whatever it is, I can't wait to see it too. I am not picky, I would just like some privacy in the bathroom...LOL!
