{two} When life hands you lemons, call Expedia and cancel your trip! Between Bret's mysterious bout with gastroenteritis last week, GG's late reaction to her 12 month shots, and my 83 year old grandfather's questionable health---our trip to Chicago (my anniversary gift from Bret) just wasn't meant to be, this time anyway. Thank Heavens for trip insurance!
{three} I'm thinking about a new idea for a graphic onesie. It would have "The Trifecta---Tiny Teething Tot" imprinted on the front. Since Gillian Grace was four months old, I've blamed her inexplicable random fits of grumpiness on teething. Whether she's chowing down on the coffee table, her crib railing, or throwing a mini tantrum, my reply is always the same---"She must be teething!"
{four} Seconds after cleaning the house, it's a mess all over again. Some days I wonder why I even bother at all!
{five} What happened to July? How can summer be this close to being over?
{six} Seeing all of the back to school gear in all the stores makes me miss teaching just a smidge. One of my favorite parts about my old job was all the pre-school planning and decorating my classroom. I always had a new theme each year, and for those of you that know me well (Mary, Tracey, Mom) it will come as no surprise that I have my next theme already planned should I ever return to the classroom.
{seven} Christmas is still a little better than five months away, but I've already begun my shopping. After battling the holiday crowds and scrounging through dwindling inventory last holiday season, I vowed never to make the same mistake again! Fingers crossed that by Turkey Day, like the bird on your table, I'll be D-O-N-E!
{eight} I finally finished all the thank-yous from Gillian Grace's birthday. I used GG's personal stationery and signed all the cards with her name. Along with the note card, I also include a wallet sized photo of the birthday girl. What can I say? I'm so biased when it comes to my little girl, I'd never pass up a chance to share her cuteness with others!
{nine} All week I'll be posting birthday giveaways galore each evening at five. Five Fantastic Giveaways at Five, I've dubbed it. Today's giveaway comes from Polka Dot Market. Don't forget to swing back by at 5 o'clock to enter!

Your classroom pics are great! I always loved the first day back to school too!
Adorable cards with your daughters name on them too!!
Loved your classroom pics! I am an
elementary teacher, and I LOVE picking out themes. Your Hollywood Theme was a genius idea. =)
I could NEVER be a night owl. If my eyes are open past 9:30, I'm proud of myself.
Funny that you mention Chicago, I JUST told my hubby we should plan a trip there! He is a huge Cubs, Bears, Bulls fan and I wouldn't pass up a trip to Oprah's hometown for anything :)
Looking forward to the giveaways and LOVE GG's stationery!
I too, miss teaching just a little this time of year. But wouldn't give up staying at home with my 2 kiddos for anything. Someday I hope to teach again.
Love your list. The teething onesie, too cute! And your class room was adorable!
with all the planning you did for GG's bday, I bet your room was always adorable.
You are a night owl! I'm lucky to make it past ten!!
Your classroom was darling!!
Hope GG is all recovered from her shots. Drake has his 1 year appoitment on Thursday and he always seems to get a fever from shots.
Love the classroom pictures. There is something so exciting about the planning and prep for a new year.
I'm a night owl. I get it.
Fabulous Miscellany Monday!

Darn it! I know how disappointing it is for travel plans to fall through. My husband and I had a wonderful 10 year anniversary planned and the day before we were to leave, there was a freak blizzard that dropped about 4 feet of snow.
Tell me about the cleaning issues. My chidlren seem to know when I'm cleaning, it's like they have a built in radar or alert. The minute I start vacuuming Jack dumps a box of Legos all over, doing dishes means someone wants to make cookies, dusting means...oh who am I kidding, I don't dust all that often. The messes seems to follow right after me.
Hope GG is feeling better. What kind of reaction did she have? I have some horror stories about those shots. It just breaks my heart, I still can't stand it.
Are you a ChiO???? I am and I'm the New Member advisor for the chapter that I was in. Where'd you go to school? You are so creative! The classroom pictures are great. I bet you would love to teach again but being a stay at home mom is the best!
Shannon, Homecoming is October 16. We go to Gator Growl and tailgate (in the rain for the past 2 Gator Growls!!!) before the show. You may want to get tickets....not sure how early you will get here that Friday. We also go to the parade!! Can't help ourselves, but we love the Homecoming Parade!!
Looking forward to seeing you all!!!! Sorry about your trip to Chicago. Hope all are well soon!!!
Take care, Mary
Sorry about your trip...but glad you had insurance...and hopefully you'll be able to go soon!
Your classroom was awesome! I bet you were the teacher everyone wanted!
Looking forward to some fun giveaways!
Those pictures are great of the classroom. I might have to copy some. Thanks for sharing your randomness.

2. i'll be back at 5
I like your idea for the graphic onesie!! :) I used to do that too - blame everything on the teeth!!
I love this! I always blame my daughters fits on teething too! and got to love trip insurance! Hope you get to go soon though!
I'm completely with you on 4, 5, and 7!!!
Oh, and I'm a fellow night owl. It's 12:30 AM right now. I need to get back on a better sleep schedule.
Love your classroom theme. I bet you were an amazing teacher!
I blamed everything on teething too! I think I was right though. Since he has gotten all of his teeth...those random bouts of drooling or crabbiness have ceased. Not that he ever get crabby now, but usually it's due to a missed nap or something. So you keep using that as your fallback excuse! :)
I'm a night owl too. it's a problem. In fact, I wrote about tha a bit yesterday on my blog.
