Miscellany Mondays

{1} Apparently it doesn't matter how much hair you have, bad hair happens to everyone. Gillian Grace woke up the other morning with the worst case of bedhead yet. Even after a bath and shampoo, she still looked like Alfalfa from the Little Rascals.

2}Why is it that when our next door neighbors have work done on their house, their workers insist on parking their truck and trailer in front of our home completely blocking in my mom's car and making it nearly impossible for me to pull out of my driveway?

{3}Baby pee is not flattering on anyone.

{4} The oil spill is still major news in our area! Bret has been working hard on Dauphin Island overseeing efforts to prevent oil from spreading across the island should it arrive on our beaches. Large sand dunes have been constructed along the west end of the island in anticipation of the oil to prevent island-wide contamination.

{5} I promise that I really did go to college, but after reading the conversation I had with my husband you may not believe me.

Me: Okay, the ghost is clear!
Bret: What? What did you say?
Me: The ghost is clear...you can come out now.
Bret: (Laughing) You know that's not right. It's the coast is clear.
Me: No it's not! That doesn't even make sense. Everyone knows coasts aren't clear, ghosts are.
Bret: Really? Are you kidding me with this? I give up...just don't say that in public!

{6} Gillian Grace does not like it when her Daddy leaves for work. She's currently going through a phase where she'll cry every time he leaves the room. Makes it tough to get to work on time, doesn't it Daddy?

{7} It's Mom and Me Monday, again!

Bedhead...my girls used to have it bad, especially my oldest. She used to twirl her hair with her fingers until it was in knots.

Okay, the story about the coast is clear/the ghost is clear is cute and funny - and I understand even college-educated pilot men who stay home with their sons for the first year talk that way (a good friend of ours got a leave with cut pay because of the economy just stay home when his son was born) he has been a great stay at-home Dad but he admits his head has turned to mush.

I have to admit the screwy up crying Gillian face is adorable...

I love her outfit for mommy and me always loved that style on little girls.

Hi Shannon, what a great post. I love all the little tidbits about your life, you are such a sweetheart. I didn't realize you were so closely affected by the oil spill. It is just so awful on so many level, get angry just thinking about it. I can only imagine how you feel being so close to it.
You are going to have to post a picture of GG in her new 4th of July outfit!! My Mom bought Jillian a Carter's 4th of July t-shirt, it's so cute. Can't wait for Summer! Have a good Monday! I am stuck here at work, stinks!

Hi there. Visiting from the Monday Miscellany. I use to put a little dab of gel in my kids' hair when it would have a mind of it's own. Oh and the baby pee shot brings back memories. Your daughter is so precious!

I just recently got peed on, too. Not much you can say about that though. It just happens... My hubs just got home from the Keys for a fishing trip. He said it was all clear still but it sounds like by the end of summer, it is going to be a mess! I hate it, too bc we love the beach and fishing. It is just not going to be a good situation!

Haha..the ghost is clear? that's hilarious that no one has pointed that out to you before now!

Yeah..baby pee isn't flattering. I've never been peed on but that photo gives me a good idea of how horrible it must be!

Hahaha!!!! Love the "ghost is clear"! That is too funny!!! :)

Love your sweet pictures!! I hope y'all have a wonderful day together!

I am totally loving that you posted the peed on picture. Only a true mom would post it and only a real mom would roll on the floor laughing because I have been there. And how funny that your hubs accepted that you prefer clear ghosts and not coasts but tells you not to say it in public.
Too funny.
Loved this post!!!

Wow, she's cute! Love the conversation you had with your husband. So glad I'm not the only college educated mom that has completely lost her marbles. I enjoyed your randoms! Blessings!

Oh the hair days. I have them as well. (see my big hair post today for miscellany monday...ackk!)

My daughter, Grace, had hair that stood up at least 2 inches in the back when she was that age. I'd try everything. Gel, hairspray, water, spit....nothing worked. Your daughter is a real cutie.

Blessings

My kids have horrible bedhead. Suave kids detangling spray is the only thing that works for us...actually, I use it on my horse, too!
I love the ghost is clear. Makes so much more sense!
I have to say, I'd be seriously ticked at your neighbors!

I love the pictures of the crazy morning hair... reminds me of what Abby's hair looked like Saturday night. Check out one of my latest posts... there are pics of her wild 'do!

Anyways, I wrote a little bit about your blog on my page, thanking you for my award!!! Again, thanks for being so kind! :)

You two are just so adorable, tears and all! You are so like me. I do not get the "witism" as I call them, "the ghost is clear." Though I did know that one, most of them I don't. Think of Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation, "burn dust and eat my rubber". Yep, that's me! ;-)

I left you an award on my blog!! :)

The "ghost" is clear had me laughing out loud! That's so funny!

I can't wait for Katelyn to get enough hair for bed head. Right now I still have a bald baby... but it is growing in slowly. Those last few pictures are absolutely precious! I love her little outfit and the picture of you together is just too sweet!!!
