Simply Sweet---The Cake Post

Everyone likes a little cake and birthday serenade, right?

Photobucket

Wrong!

Photobucket

Blame it on the flickering flame of the candle...

Photobucket

My singing {American Idol material, I am not}...

Photobucket

The change in routine and lack of afternoon nap...

Photobucket

Or, the 35 pairs of adoring eyes glued on her!

Photobucket

But, this birthday girl just wasn't happy!

Photobucket

Until...

Photobucket

She got a smidge of icing on her teeny finger.

Photobucket

Which lead to her first small bite...

Photobucket

Followed by her next slightly bigger bite.

Photobucket

Then the bites turned to handfuls, which led to mouthfuls, and finally, to one very full and content baby girl!

Photobucket

Clearly it is possible to have your cake and eat it too! Funny how a little cake suddenly makes everything better!

Love these pics and the CAKE too!! Happy 1st Birthday Gillian!!

Adorable outfit! I am slightly jealous that she kept her hat on, and teensy bit that she actully ate her cake. My daughter would not touch her cake. I had this adorable cake made, and was expecting this adorable cake smashing session, and she wouldn't even touch it! Ha!

Bought two party hats, and she wouldn't wear them, ha! It was a mother's nightmare!! Oh well!

Hey, if you facebook, would you vote for our little pumpkin in the Beautiful Baby contest! The details are on our blog post!

We sure would appreciate your vote!

Thanks so much! Love Lindsay XOXO

That cake is so cute. Is it frosting or fondant? I've always wanted to learn how to make cakes with findant.
Smiling or crying baby girl is always adorable.

I was *just* thinking that I hadn't seen your cake post yet and then you linked up. Great minds must think alike!

Poor GG. Rylie does the same thing when she is overwhelmed. I'm so glad she ended up loving her cake, though. The cake was beautiful (just like everything else) and I bet GG had a great time eating it!

Thanks for stopping by and linking up with me today!
