We're Here!

Hey, friends!

Yes, we're still here, and I'm proud to report that after a week battling the sickies, with the exception of poor Sweet Bean's new aversion to tissues, we're hardly any worse for the wear. With a week passing between posts, it seems that I've neglected my little blog and have several of y'all wondering if all is well. {Thanks for all the concerned texts and emails, y'all are very thoughtful to check in on us.}

Fortunately, things could not be better!

Juggling schedules, new obligations, and a restructuring of priorities for 2011, has us all running around the house so busy at times it's easy to forget whether we're coming or going. With a full plate, only so many hours in the day, and a very active toddler demanding, and so deserving of, my undivided attention, it's become increasingly obvious that something's gotta give.

Just as I would never have dreamed of blogging when I was working, with a classroom full of children waiting to learn, I cannot with good conscience spend any of Sweet Bean's waking hours on the computer when I should be teaching and modeling, making the most of our precious and fleeting time together. And, since I can't renege on commitments nor phone-in other responsibilities, I have little choice but to try and simplify my life in other ways.

That being said, blogging is just one of the ways that I have chosen to simplify. While the thought of going days without an update, at first, had me considering taking my blog private, I knew I'd miss the interaction and many friendships that blogging has brought my way.  So I will continue to blog with a new understanding, that for all the wonderful things blogging has brought into my life, it is still just a hobby. There will be weeks when I am able to find the time to blog regularly, and then weeks will most certainly pass with just a single post or perhaps none at all.

If God humors our plans, 2011 will be a momentous year for the Webb family full of changes both big and small.  I look forward to keeping y'all updated on the goings-on---the exciting and mundane, happy and frustrating, not to mention the random---whenever I can.

I'd love for y'all to stick around for the ride.

And since it has been quite a few days since my last post, I couldn't close without a few pictures of Sweet Bean.  These photos certainly go to show that even a cold, can't keep a good girl down!

Just remember, a smile a day will help the sickies go away!

Blessings, friends!

Shannon,

I am so glad to hear all is better on the homefront. I hope that B woke up better today as well. Look at Sweet Bean....happy and smiling , yay!!!

You know I even blogged about simplifying in 2011. Blogging def. takes a lot of time. Not to mention visiting all your friends blogs. I hear you friend. I would still like to only blog about 3 times a week. With my OCD, I need a schedule, ya know!

I commend you for being such a great mommy & keeping your priorities in tact. I love having a private blog as well. I started it when we traveled and homeschooled. It still gets neglected, ha, but it's there to document & ramble. I had to start the public one though so I could get that interaction. Being private is hard to make friends. It's like your invisible, lol. You have friends now so you could make it happen. I, on the other hand, went in reverse order!

I'll miss my GG pics, you'll have to text them to me:) Or we can travel and meet and eat and chat:)

Have a great day my friend-

I was the same way as you a few months back ... thinking that I HAD to blog daily (with the exception of the weekends). But the nice thing about our blogs, they're there for us when we come back. Whether it be 1 day, 1 week or 1 month. Our memories are still there.

I've told you many times - your family is your number one priority! I'm so glad you recognize that!

Thanks for the pictures of GG - I needed my Sweet Bean fix!

Have a nice day!

ON SIDE NOTE...HOW DARE YOU COME UP TO A CHICK DUE SOON AND SAY THAT FOR STARTERS

as for sweet baby! glad she looks sooo happy in the pics...missed y'all

I whole-heartedly agree. I blog when I can and don't when I can't. I am certainly not going to let blogging get in the way of living, and I applaud you for making that decision too! God bless!

I've been missing your blogging! BUT I can totally understand wanting to spend all of your time with your little Sweet Bean. So don't feel bad at all! Instead, soak up the time with your little one :)

Awww! I'm so glad GG's better!! We missed you on the blog-front! It's tough having a sick baby.. I don't like it one bit! No rest for the weary! =)

I know what you mean about feeling like you have to blog daily.. I have to get one some kind of schedule..BAD.. It becomes unenjoyable when it becomes a chore. =) Happy Thursday friend!

Can I just say little gg is so precious. She's one of those babies that you just want to pick up and just love all over!

I have changed my "blogging" ways, too...more for ME and when I have time instead of trying to post more regularly...I just took a week "break" and am back for now :) I do love to keep my family/friends updated, but sometimes I find myself blogging for the wrong reasons and forcing it to happen. Families are #1 and you have a lot on your plate!! Good to see everyone is healthy again :)

Isn't it amazing that the world keeps turning even when you don't post for a day?! ;)

I'm slowing down, too. It's just too much to do everyday. I'm shooting for 4 times a week but if it's more or less than that, I'm fine with it.

GG just gets cuter and cuter!

I'll miss you, girl! But that will make your posts even more special, because they'll be that important, that you'll want to post about it! Glad y'all are feeling better, and hope to hear from you soon! Good luck with the "changes"! Can't wait to get updates about it!

So glad to hear everyone is getting back to good health! Sweet Bean is adorable , even if she is not feeling well ~ she knows how to bring a smile to our day via your photos!!!

I'm still learning about this whole blogLand thing (I have been blogging about 8 month snow ) But I agree it should be helping or giving you something in ADDITION to your life off the computer ... it should not be your life. Great for you for taking your life back. Balance is the key (not that I have the secret formula ..LOL.. still tryingto figure out my balance) ... will look forward to your updates when you post them!!! Take care..HHL

Beanie looks like she has a well loved blankie there.
The sickies are at our place right now. I actually had this crazy thought that I might be able to get some errands done today and then it went out the door with the phone call from the kiddos school..." We have your child in the health room this morning and they are throwing up, so you need to come and get them."
I know what you mean about time spent blogging. I've thought about shutting down the blog, but I'll keep it open. I just won't be on the blog as often. BALANCE.
Have a great day.

Glad to hear you guys are feeling better. It seems to hit everyone at the same time doesn't it.

I'll definitely stick around for your journey, can't wait to see what new things you have going on :)

And don't feel bad about not blogging. I agree that when the kids are awake it just seems wrong to spend your time on the computer.

I am so happy everyone is feeling better! I agree that blogging is very time consuming. Once I get back to work I don't know how much time I will have to blog. I really do enjoy it though.
Bean looks so cute!
Have a great day, and look forward to reading your blog whenever you get to it!

I so hear you. I decided to do that last summer and have done it every since. I like it this way so much better!!

I'm so glad you checked in, and I think you've got it all prioritized properly. If I had a little one, I wouldn't be on the computer either.

I'm starting to feel the same way. My couch is getting a butt indent while my daughter is in the other room playing. Guilt. So, I'm trying to do this while she naps or at night. Good luck to you!

The Regal Pup said...

Shannon, this post has me thinking that you may be preggo?!? :)

I am so with you on the blogging thing... after your original design to my blog (when it was The Regal Pup) back in December, I was on a blogging kick. I blogged everyday for a straight week - lol. But, it's nearly impossible to do so everyday. I completely understand you cutting back. Today, I am fortunate b/c I am caught up on laundry and chores, and can actually get on the computer during B's nap.

Anyways, looking forward to seeing what 2011 has in store for the Webb family.

P.S. Got your email, and will respond soon! Thx girl!

Glad GG is feeling better. I can't wait to hear all about the changes happening to your little family! I'm hoping it's a sibling for Bean! :)

If I stayed home, I'd never have time to blog. It does take so mch time!

Hugs, friend!

I've missed your posts and I was hoping everything was okay! I'm glad you are keeping your blog for all of us to read.... I would miss seeing little Miss GG!!! :)

You are right - time flies by so quickly, and we can never get it back! GG is lucky that you are smart enough to stop and appreciate your time with her :)

I was thinking the same thing as Regal Pup...but I'm not going to pry :)

I'm glad your back, and I am definitely going to be doing the same thing...simplifying! And the blog world will always be here whenever I feel like posting and when I don't feel like posting!

I'm going to be sporadic and not feel like I HAVE to post everyday. I kinda realized it over the past week...it definitely shouldn't be at the TOP of my to do list...but I started it to keep up with Little Man's updates, and I will keep up with that.

Glad to see a post from you though!

Love ya!

I think everyone that blogs understands when you have to cut back or take a break. It's time consuming along with life! I look forward to reading your updates & the changes that will be taking place in your life when you have time!

Hi Shannon, finally got around to reading your post today! It's been a very busy and crazy year and I certainly understand your reason for not blogging all the time. I too have only been able to blog twice a week lately and those posts are also very time consuming.
You have to do what you have to do for yourself and your family. It sounds like you are finding a happy balance which is great!!

I pray that God answers all of your prayers and plans too for 2011. I know it will be a special year for you!!!

Love ya friend!

Howdy! It's been a while, friend. Just popping in to see what's going on. your girl is precious, as always. And I completely understand your decision. I'd make the same one if I were you. Time with the littles is so important. With that in mind, I still can't wait to see what the new year brings you and yours. Take care!

Hey Shannon!!!! I know exactly how you feel. While I love blogging and making new friends...it's hard to get other important things done. Now that I'm in school it makes it very hard to blog because I should be devoting my time and attention to studying and learning. P.S. I would still follow you even if you posted once a year. ;)

Love these pictures of GG!!! My friend's daughter does the same thing!!! You throw a blanket over her head and say "Where's Livi?!?!" and she throws it down really fast and laughs. It's so cute!!! I might need a video of GG doing this... ;)

Happy weekend!!!!!

I'm so glad you're all feeling better. Also, I want to congratulate you...You are so right to put Gilly first and to admit that blogging is a hobby that comes only when you have the time. (Sometimes I need to remind myself of the exact same priorities...) I can't wait to continue reading your exciting adventures for 2011...
