Home Tour Tueday---Out with the Old, In with the New

We're baaaaack!

Daphne and I are kicking off this first Tuesday of 2011 with our very own New Year's themed Home Tour topic:  Out with the Old---In with the New.  With so many wonderfully diverse tastes out there, I'm looking forward to gaining some inspiration and seeing the end result of your one room labor of love! It'll be like having my own personal version of HGTV right at my fingertips, only without all the hassle of commercials!

This week, I've chosen to highlight our guest bath. Soon after we purchased our current home, the renovations began. Room by room, thanks to the mad skills and hard work of my husband and father, we were able to make all of my planning and design ideas a reality.

With our guest bath seeing less action than even a Nun on Sunday, Sweet Bean is pretty much the only patron of this lovely lieu. And at just shy of 17 months, GG doesn't require a lot of primp time quite yet---thank goodness!

Before

Though I'm a huge fan of subtle yellow, the hexagonal banana colored tiles, just had to go. But before I cut the boys loose with the air chisel and sledge hammer, I was able to draw a little inspiration from this bathroom's vintage charm.

The Renovation Process

Surprise---wallpaper! Thank goodness this little patch of dated floral paper was all that we found! Lovely, isn't it?

Getting ready to tile the bathtub surround with white subway tile.

Turns out my inspiration, meant a lot of intricate tiling. Whoops, who knew? I'm just the Wizard behind the design curtain, I know nothing about the amount of labor required. My bad...

Painting is done---now the wainscoting goes up!

Custom hand-made cabinets from a small family-owned shop in Gautier, Mississippi.

The After

And now, for your viewing pleasure, the true pièce de résistance...the one, the only, Miss Sweet Bean herself, Gillian Grace. I know you've missed her!

Our nighttime routine---did you catch a peak of today's featured room?
In case you're wondering, we say "skin the cat" when it's time for GG to strip down to her birthday suit. Don't ask me where it came from, but Bean certainly knows what it means.

Okay, friends! Grab our button and link up! Show us what you've got, I'm ready to be amazed!

Daphne and I are still thinking of a theme for next week, so we'll post as soon as we've decided. Any thoughts?

Happy Tuesday!

Your bathroom turned out great! I love the color on the walls ... and what is nice about your tile floor and wainscoting, you can change the wall color at any time for a new, updated look!

And look at Bean following all those commands! She is a smart girl!!! :)

Okay...first off, you know that I love your taste. You have a beautiful home. The bathroom re-do is amazing. What is with that wallpaper?? Isn't it great when your hubs is handy? It saves alot of money. Next, GG is too funny. It reminds me of our house at night. We command Anthony and watch him :) I love her turning the diaper genie...too funny. Lastly, I got the most enjoyment out of your voice!!! The southern accent is best :)

The video of GG is hilarious! She is so funny! How do you keep the bow in her hair?? It looks like she just pulled it right off, but what was holding it on? I'm the Midwest and we don't do bows like you all do haha! I love it though!

LOVE the bathroom!! That looks so great! I have never liked our master bath since we moved in...the floor, the shower...the countertops...but we never thought we would be in this house this long!

And I love the video of GG...so cute!!! Especially her shaking her head and then pulling her shirt back out on accident before shutting the door! Precious!

What a makeover! It's gorgeous! And GG is just too cute, as you already know. :) My mother-in-law uses the phrase "skin the rabbit", so the hubby will say it now and then. The visual it creates is too much for a girl who's actually seen a few skinned animlas in her lifetime (I've got a hunter for a dad)! LOL!

I love it! I think I still have the email you sent me a long time ago w/ the rest of your house too. You are a very talented wizard behind the curtain! :)

Very nice bathroom redo. We've done a lot to our place, too. Next up, our downstairs bathroom. I have picked out the tile, but am still looking for a vanity. Where did you find yours? I love the top. Also, is wainscoting easy to install. I'd love for my mister to tackle that one, too.

Cute video, by the way. I loved the little "cloud." LOL! She's a very good listener!

Happy Tuesday!
