Fun Phone Friday---Ride em' cowgirl!

After the North Face rain jacket debacle of 2002, Bret has vowed to never again give me anything practical for any gift-related occasion. So this year, despite being in desperate need of a new sweeper {Yes folks, I call a vacuum a sweeper.}, I knew better than to expect a shiny new Hoover under my Christmas tree.

Our sweeper, whom we affectionately named Smurfette, has been with us for many years, and while we've been through a lot together, Smurfette and I, nothing prepared us for the mess one tiny toddler tornado would create for us on a daily hourly basis. And while I soldier on day after day, Cheerio after damn Cheerio, I'm afraid my sweeper has all but lost her will to suck.

But before retiring Miss Smurfette to that big dust cloud in the sky, Sweet Bean wanted a moment to say her goodbyes.

Overtaken by emotion and apparently the spirit of Annie Oakley, Gillian Grace coped with her first loss the best way she knew how---by mounting and riding Smurfette off into the sunset.

Giddy up!

Now grab my button and link up. But make sure your picture doesn't suck, in honor of Smurfette, of course!

Happy Friday, y'all!

For the record, my pic does suck! I realized this AM as I looked through my phone i didn't have much of anything that was worth posting, that hadn't already been posted:) So I was making coffee and got inspiration:)

Hope you all have a great weekend!

I remember the days my little brother used to ride the sweeper. Of course, this was in teh 1980's and my mom still had the sweeper she got for her wedding, so it was not a pretty smurfette blue, but rather....pea green!

I wish that Addison would get close to a vaccuum. She sees the thing and says, "No, Mommy, No!!!" Good reason not to vaccuum if you ask me. :)

I just love seeing GG at play - adorable.

Cute! The "sweeper" in my house is was D's grandfather's - that's how old it is. It's so heavy I can't even use it...meaning the hubs does the "sweeping". Even though it's old, it's crazy powerful! Why upgrade to a newer, er...lighter model I'd have to use? HA! Happy Friday!!!!

Thanks for my the laugh this morning! That's hilarious - smurfette! Maybe if I gave our vacuum a name I'd be more inclined to get to know her! HA!

Too cute! Nik got a pottery barn "dyson" vacuum for xmas from my brother and sis-in-law and she loves it. She was always wanting to help me vaccuum which was precious and so cute and fun, btu didn't allow me to get much vacuuming done, ha!

Now, she can vacuum with mommy! I still try and suck her up with the hose though, ha ha.

Our vacuum from my brother went on the fritz a couple years ago. And, so for Christmas from my mother in law we got a Shark Pet Vacuum. It is a Shark vaccuum which are really nice, and it is specifically for owners with pets. It has attachments for couch pet hair, etc. It still works, and we have put it through the ringer. I LOVE it! Works great! Never looses suction, and so easy to empty. No bags etc. No filter to change. She got it at Bed Bath and Beyond I think. Very nice.

Love.

Wait I got it! We'll call her Pistachio because she's Pistachio green and that's what I'm eating right now as I'm typing.
It's perfect! Maybe Miele would like to here my what I named one of their vacuums. Probably NOT! :) Hah...
