When you arrive home from an afternoon playdate in the park with your daughter only to realize that you've been wearing two completely different tennis shoes. And what's more, you simply don't care!
Fun Phone Photo Friday
After a surprise visit home to celebrate my mom's birthday and a nice lunch with the family yesterday, Gammie and Grandad accompanied Sweet Bean and me to the grocery store. (I'm not really sure what it says about where we live that we find ourselves traveling at least an hour to find a decent grocery store, but then again, that's a topic for another post!) Anyway, GG was all decked out in her birthday bubble and of course, had on her favorite, very squeaky, shoes! Mom and Sweet Bean walked the store, while Dad and I shopped like we were auditioning for Supermarket Sweep, because as any momma knows, tacking a shopping trip on top of an already long day as nap time approaches means you're living on borrowed time! No matter where Mom and Gillian Grace were in the store, we knew right where to find them. At one point, GG confiscated my buggy (that's shopping cart to all you living North of the Mason Dixon line) and set out on a shopping spree of her own.
Bless her adorable heart, that child of mine is 14 months, going on 14 years! She already thinks she's a big girl and can do big girl things. And what's more, once she gets her mind set on something, good luck trying to convince her otherwise. Stubbornness, hmmm... Now who could she have gotten that from?
I don't know about you, but I couldn't be more excited to see a week come to a close. Fall is in full swing. The weather is nearly perfect: cooler mornings, and temperate afternoons, long shadows, and plenty of blue skies and sunshine! This weekend we'll extend mom's birthday celebration just a tad with a family dinner on Sunday. But Saturday evening, you'll find us glued to the television watching my beloved Florida Gators take on the big cheese, numero uno, the Alabama Crimson Tide. And though we're greatly outnumbered by about 10,000 to one here in Dixie, we'll do our best to make the Gator Nation proud, cheering just as loudly and obnoxiously as our Roll Tide neighbors!
Go Gators!
What are your weekend plans?

OMG...that little GG is too much! Good for you for even having her out of the shopping cart, nonetheless trying to push it :) Well, at least she wants to help. Hopefully that theme will continue as she gets older. Have a great weekend with your parents and watching the Gators :)
Follow you from Friendly Friday.
Hope you have a nice day.

That is too funny about your tennis shoe situation! At least they were both white and blue and the same brand, so they had the same logo on them! Those grocery shopping pics are just precious of your "big helper"! Have a great weekend!!

You crack me up! I thought I was the only one to unknowingly wear two different shoes.
Haha... the shoe thing I did once by mistake.
Have a great weekend.
All the best,
Kim
Too funny. I did that but it was Rylie's shirt. It was on backwards all day.
I think GG said she wanted to come to my house to be spoiled today.
We're going to Krispy Kreme first, then the toy store and then possibly out to lunch, GG didn't say where she likes to eat, but she said anyplace that serves pasta would be nice.
Then a little nap (for me) then a little jaunt to the aquarium. She'll be home by 10:00pm.
That work for you?
She is cracking me up trying to manhandle that gigantic cart!
Your shoes are cracking me up too!
ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLL loved the shoes! i do that when i'm pregnant...hmmmmmm! haha
as for the buggy stealer! you had a precious helper!
LOVE US SOME FOOTBALL..our poor aggies lost last night..but bring on some NFL all day sunday! we center our day around it!
GG is too cute in that pink get-up. We'll be watching the gator game too-GO GATORS!
LMAO about the shoes!!
GO GATORS!!!!
Love your blog's design! Thanks for visiting me on Tag-Along Tuesday. I'm following you back. I, too, am glad this week is over. Check out today's blog post about total chaos to understand why!
I love the shoe pic...I would be the same way...at the end of a long week I'd just laugh at myself :)
Ah, a good friend of mine would love this post! He's a die-hard Gator fan! :D
Love little G.G. pushing the cart! SO cute!
You should stop by my place - I've been doing giveaways ALL week to celebrate my baby girl's 1st b-day which is TODAY!
Have a great weekend!! :)
Too cute! Nik loves to push the cart too! They are like twins. She wouldn't even sit in the child seat the other day. She had to be out or sit in the big part of the cart, ha! I had to bribe her with Fruit snacks!
I tried to let her take her little shopping cart to the store with us, but she just runs around and gets distracted and goes crazy, ha! I can't get any shopping done, takes twice as long.
Looks like she is having fun! Fun grocery store time! Wish I was grocery shopping right now, doesn't that sound silly, ha!
have a great weekend! You just need different looking shoes. I would prob get those mixed up too. They look almost the same. You are crazy girl that you have two sets of sneaks that looks almost exactly the same. That is somethign I would do, adn hubs would prob tease me about it, ha!
I love the shoe pic! I've been there!
GIRL, you are a momma. You are allowed to do that. I go with different shoes all the time, it happens haha and socks too :)
my good friend is a Bama fan.
can i just say that gigi's shopping wardrobe puts my "nice duds" to shame?!
I'm actually nervous about the game tomorrow. Still, I believe in "us." Go Gators!
oh shoot. that's hilarious.
No worries on the shoes. They do at least appear to be the same brand. I watched an episode of House Hunters once and I am pretty sure the "hunter" had on two different high heels.
Go Gators!
I had to laugh about the tennis shoes! Luckily, they are so similar that we all could have made that mistake! Your pictures are adorable, as usual! Also, had to tell ya, we are big fans of the good state of Florida, too, but we cheer for (and are literally JUST now basking in the victory of) the Florida State Seminoles! :) Have a great weekend!
Oh yikes! Sorry about your Gators....Alabama was way up when I saw last night. My husband is a huge Auburn fan...so he was checking it out!
Emily is looking at Florida for volleyball. We'll see. We may be Gator fans one day too!
Gillian is such the little shopper! No sitting in the buggy for her...I guess!
I have totally done the shoe thing...except someone else pointed it out to me. Oooops! Kinda nice to not even care!
Your baby girl is precious!
I am LOL'd at the shoes;)
Coming to you via Southern Mommas-
have a great weekend!
The mismatched sneakers are AWESOME! I wouldn't have given a hoot either :)
I love GG's shoes and her pushing the buggy is a very familiar scene for me. Just wait until there are two of them to compete over it! I miss my daily trips to Publix :( I know the bakery staff are wondering where the kids and I are! I need to go in sometime this week in my wheelchair and let them know I'm still alive!
Hope you're enjoying the weekend! Tough loss last night...I finally turned it off because it was too depressing to watch. I'm sure having GG around makes it all better :)
Adorable little girl you have there.
